Governance

A significant challenge faced by the Starknet community was the effective understanding and participation in the decentralized governance processes. This was due to several factors, including unfamiliarity with governance processes, scattered information, a lack of transparency, and difficulty in using available tools.

The project had several primary goals. Firstly, it aimed to introduce an application in line with Starknet's changing governance mechanisms. Additionally, it sought to promote more community discussions and encourage proposal creations. Finally, the project also aimed to streamline the voting process for the community, bolster the understanding of delegation, and deepen the community's knowledge of Starknet's governance procedures and initiatives.

From a UX perspective, one of our primary goals here was to ensure the information displayed on the governance hub was presented in a clear and lucid manner. This enabled us to keep the barrier to entry low and ensure even novices could actively participate in governance.

We developed a set of tools directly within the app to simplify the process of creating, discussing, and voting on Proposals. This was achieved through the integration of the Snapshot API. When these proposals are approved, they transition into projects, fostering community engagement with regular updates and discussions.

The hub also emphasizes delegate participation. It provides detailed profiles that highlight voting patterns and performance metrics, and also facilitates direct vote delegation. To help users navigate Starknet governance, we included an Educational section that clearly explains the system's intricacies.

We also designed and built a custom component library - this modular approach ensures the hub is scalable, can seamlessly integrate with external systems and most importantly, can continue to evolve and grow with Starknet's governance needs.
